Where the story moves beyond the page.

Rickey Spearman’s storytelling extends beyond the page and into the screen—bringing bold, truth-telling narratives to life through film, television, digital media, and stage. Every script is grounded in cultural memory, lived experience, and an unflinching sense of justice.

This page features original screenplays that do more than entertain, they confront, reflect, and remember. Whether adapted from published works or drawn directly from real-life stories, these projects are cinematic extensions of voices long silenced. These aren’t just screenplays; they are witness, testimony, and art—crafted to move, to provoke, and to last.

Film & TV Development Stage

HAMPTON

Narrative:

A modern, urban reimagining of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, set in the streets of New Orleans.

HAMPTON follows Ham Ellis, the son of a slain kingpin, as he returns home to confront betrayal, legacy, and the weight of a crown he never asked to wear. This isn’t Denmark—it’s the block. And the ghosts here speak in code, not prophecy.

This adaptation keeps the bones of the classic tragedy but places them in a world of corner politics, blood-bound loyalty, and cultural survival. HAMPTON is a tragedy built on real-life echoes—and a call to action for a new kind of audience.

Man Of Steel

Narrative:

He wasn’t born with power—he was forged by it.

The Man of Steel is a gripping courtroom drama that follows Malachi Xavier, a former U.S. Marine and intelligence specialist, who now stands trial for telling the truth in a country that only honors silence.

This isn’t the Dawn of Justice courtroom.
There are no capes. No saviors.
Just one man standing in the fire—alone, unafraid, and unbought.

Decorated. Disciplined. Dangerous.
That’s who he is—and that’s why they want him gone.

The courtroom becomes the battlefield.
The truth becomes the weapon.
And the cost? Everything.

As pressure mounts and right-wing extremists begin targeting his wife, Malachi is forced to decide to keep his head down and survive… or speak—and risk burning the whole lie to the ground.

Script Development Stage

HAMPTON on Stage

Hampton: The Operetta is a modern-day musical tragedy inspired by Shakespeare’s Hamlet, reimagined through the lens of New Orleans Street politics, grief, and legacy. Blending operatic vocals with hip hop, gospel, and spoken word, it tells the story of Hampton “Ham” Ellis—a reluctant heir to a violent empire—who must choose between justice and vengeance after his father’s murder.

Set in present-day New Orleans, the piece merges theatrical storytelling with the emotional power of music. Scenes alternate between grounded dramatic dialogue and stylized operatic cutaways, where characters express their inner turmoil in powerful solo and choral performances.

The show’s music blends classical opera with contemporary rhythms: trap beats under tenor lines, gospel harmonies carrying grief, and spoken word verses woven into orchestral motifs.
